The method is based on the ethical foundations of permaculture:
- Take care of the Earth.
- Take care of people.
- Share resources and crops equitably.
It seeks to explore a way of living on Earth that is gentle both to nature and to people. The needs of human beings and their welfare are taken into account, as are those of plants, animals and the planet. It is long term and fully adapted to the post-carbon era.
The method works for life, not against it.
[Upon these foundations] there are no rigid rules, especially as the method is only in the early stages of development. Every grower, having their own aspirations, preferences and skills, is free to adapt this approach to their choices and their soil, climate, economic and social context.
